Terms & Conditions

These terms apply when you use Mas0nk’s apps, websites (including mas0nk.com and movienight.pro) and related services, including Movie Night and the pages for shared films and lists on movienight.pro (together, the “Services”). They explain the rules for using the Services and do not remove rights you have under Australian law.

Effective date: 18 October 2026

1. About these terms

“Mas0nk”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Mason Kemeny, trading as Mas0nk. “You” means the person using the Services.

By downloading, accessing or using a Service, including by visiting a shared film or list page on movienight.pro, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian. You must also follow any third-party terms that apply, such as those of your mobile or internet provider.

2. Using the Services

You may use the Services for your own personal, lawful purposes. You must not misuse the Services, interfere with their operation or security, use them unlawfully, or infringe anyone’s rights. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for checking it before you rely on it.

2.1 Movie Night

Movie Night is an app for tracking films and TV shows, organising watchlists and planning movie nights. It uses data from TMDB, OMDb and Apple’s iTunes Search. It does not give you ownership of, or any licence to, films, TV shows or other content, and it does not give you access to streaming or other services.

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Trailers. Movie Night plays trailers using YouTube API Services. By watching them you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service.

Do not enter information about another person unless you have a lawful basis and any permission required. Event invitations are shared by you through the iOS share sheet; you are responsible for who receives them.

2.2 Groups, friends and shared content

Where Groups is available, you can share content such as names, photos, home theatre setups, films, movie nights, notes, RSVPs and ratings with other members. Group members can see each other’s names, photos and home theatre setups. Where Connect with Friends is available, you can opt in to share what you have watched, your ratings and your watch dates with people you are in a group with. You can turn off Share What I’ve Watched, stop sharing a list with a group, delete a list or leave a group at any time, but we cannot recall what a friend has already seen. You are responsible for what you share.

Shared links and public lists. If you share a film or list by link, the content in that link is shown on a public page on movienight.pro that anyone who has the link can view, without signing in, and can pass on. By sharing a link you confirm you are entitled to share that content publicly. Only share links with people you are comfortable seeing that content. You must not publish a list or link that is unlawful, abusive, harassing, misleading or that infringes anyone’s rights, and we may remove a public list or link, or restrict sharing, if it is reported or we believe it breaches these terms. You can stop sharing a list in the app using Stop Sharing Link. If a public list remains online after you have deleted the app, email us and we will remove it. You can report a public list using Report This List, or by email.

Do not share content that is unlawful, abusive, harassing or infringes anyone’s rights. Group organisers can remove members, and you can leave a group at any time. To report offensive content or abusive behaviour, email mas0nk.dev@gmail.com. We may act on reports, including by restricting access to the Services as set out in section 10.

2.3 Screenings and public performance rights

Movie Night is a scheduling and planning tool. It helps you track what you want to watch and organise when and where you will watch it. It does not supply, stream, host or distribute films or TV shows, and it does not grant you, or help you obtain, any right or licence to show them. Planning or inviting people to a screening through Movie Night is not evidence that you have the rights to hold it.

You are solely responsible for making sure any screening you plan, organise, promote or invite people to is lawful. In particular:

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, damage, claim, fine, penalty or cost (including legal costs) you or anyone else incurs because a screening you planned, organised, promoted or held through the Services was unlawful or infringed anyone’s rights. You indemnify us against any claim or loss arising from such a screening or from your breach of this section. We may suspend or end your access as set out in section 10 if we believe the Services are being used to organise unlawful screenings.

2.4 Importing from other services

Movie Night can import your history, ratings and lists from Trakt if you sign in to your Trakt account. You must only import data from an account you are entitled to use, and you must follow Trakt’s terms. Movie Night is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Trakt, IMDb, Letterboxd or any other service, and their names belong to their owners. Imported data depends on what the other service provides and may be incomplete or inaccurate. We are not responsible for the other service, its availability or changes to it. Movie Night uses its Trakt access once, for the import, then gives it up. You can also revoke Movie Night’s access in your Trakt account.

2.5 Suggestions

Smart Search, Help me decide and other suggestions are generated automatically and are for convenience only. They may be inaccurate or incomplete, and are not recommendations on which you should rely, or professional advice. Check anything important yourself, including classification and age suitability before you watch or show a film.

3. Accounts

Movie Night does not require a Mas0nk account. It uses your Apple Account and iCloud, and you are responsible for activity on your Apple Account and devices.

4. Your content and feedback

You keep the rights you have in content you enter. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run, secure and support the Services, as described in our Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership to us.

If you send feedback or suggestions (including through the feedback page), you give us a free, perpetual licence to use them to improve the Services without owing you anything. We will not publish your name without your permission.

5. Paid features and subscriptions

Movie Night has a free plan and paid features through Movie Night Pro. Pro is offered as Monthly and Yearly auto-renewing subscriptions and a one-off Lifetime purchase, each with a Family Sharing version. Prices are shown in the app in your local currency before you buy.

6. Intellectual property

The Services, including software, design, text, graphics and branding, are owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright, trade mark and other laws. You may use them under a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence on these terms. You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, reverse engineer or create derivative works from them, except where the law allows or we agree in writing. Third-party materials remain the property of their owners. Film, TV and franchise names, artwork, posters and logos, including any shown in the app or used in app icons, belong to their respective owners. Their use does not mean we are affiliated with, or endorsed by, those owners.

7. Apple App Store terms

If you obtained an app from Apple’s App Store:

8. Availability and changes

We may update, suspend or discontinue all or part of a Service, including to maintain security, comply with law or improve it. We take reasonable steps to tell you about material changes, and we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Movie Night relies on Apple’s iCloud and CloudKit to store and sync your content, including groups and shared lists. We do not control iCloud, and we do not guarantee that your content will always sync, be available or be recoverable. Keep your own copy of anything important, and keep iCloud enabled and backed up.

We may update these terms. We will change the effective date and, for material changes, give notice in the app or on the website. If you keep using a Service after the change, you accept the updated terms.

9. Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies a consumer guarantee, right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or other applicable law. Where the law allows us to limit a remedy for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee, our liability is limited to the extent permitted by that law (for example, to resupplying the service or paying the cost of having it resupplied).

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using a Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access where reasonably necessary to protect users, the Services or our systems, address misuse or breach of these terms, or comply with law. Sections that by their nature continue after use ends will continue to apply.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from your failure to check information you enter, from third-party services (including Apple, TMDB, OMDb, Trakt and YouTube), from content shared by other group members or friends, from content you share by link or public list and what others do with it, from loss of or failure to sync iCloud data, from the accuracy of suggestions or imported data, from any screening you plan, organise, promote or hold (see section 2.3), or from events beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Privacy

How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy. Please read it before using the Services.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, subject to any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
